         <title>Scholarship Recipient Maxine Payne</title>

         <description>
 		Maxine Payne of greenbrier, Arkansas is the 2012 Polly Wood Crews  Scholarship recipient.  Payne will spend two weeks traveling in the Vinh  Linh district of Vietnam to interview and photograph rural women.  The  focus of this work is globalization and change in rural women's lives.   This work is a continuation of a collaborative project Payne has  completed with anthropologist Anne Goldberg in Costa Rica, the U.S. /  Mexico border, and Africa.

         <description>Architecture and Design Network presents: Heart/Hand A lecture by Billie Tsien, AIA, NCAARB, FAAR of Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, New York City.  The lecture is Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 6:00 p.m., preceed by a reception at 5:30 p.m. at the Arkansas Arts Center lecture hall. Tsien received her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Yale and her Master in Architecture from UCLA.  Currently, in addition to practicing, teaching and lecturing, she serves on the advisory council for the Yale School of Architecture. In 2007 Tsien was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters.</description>

         <title>Touring Exhibition Features Textiles from Five 'Women to Watch'</title>

		The  Arkansas Women to Watch Exhibition begins touring the state on February  1st at the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas in Pine Bluff  through April 13th. The theme this year is &quot;inventive textile-based  works&quot; and will feature the work of five artists selected by curator Caroline S. Brown: Louise Halsey of Little Rock, Barbara Cade of Hot Springs, Jennifer Libby Fay (formerly of Rogers), Jane Hartfield of Fort Smith, and Deborah Kuster of Conway. Halsey was chosen by the National Museum of Women in the Arts to show her work in the exhibition High Fiber: Women to Watch 2012 in Washington, D.C. which was on view from November 2, 2012 - January 6, 2013.
