When I’m painting I feel completely at peace (aside from the occasional frustration when I can’t get something right) and deeply interested. And that’s most of what I think we all need out of life. It’s what I want my paintings to bring to the people who love them – a sense of serenity as well as layers of interest.

I paint slowly, look carefully, and think hard about what I’m making. I’ve had people tell me they don’t get tired of looking a painting they’ve gotten from me, and that’s exactly what I’m aiming for.

With each painting, I hope to bring the viewer a reason to pause and reflect on things that are beautiful and strong but perhaps unnoticed.
