Lyon College recently shared an exciting news article detailing the arrival of "Arkansas Women to Watch 2026: Words Become Matter" at the Kresge Gallery on campus. The full article can be found here on the Lyon website or is available below. This is the fourth stop for the traveling exhibition, out of five stops across Arkansas. The exhibition will be on view in Batesville from August 21st through October 3rd.
The Board of Directors of the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts invites you to a reception for the Batesville opening on September 10th at 5 PM. The reception will take place at the Kresge Gallery of Lyon College, from 5 P.M. - 6:30 P.M., and is free to the public. The gallery is located on the first floor of the Alphin Building on campus, and parking can be found in the crescent lot in front of Brown Chapel and the Fine Arts Building.

‘Words Become Matter’ Exhibit at Lyon College Showcases Women Artists

Lyon College’s Kresge Gallery will feature “Words Become Matter,” an exhibition presented as part of the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ Women to Watch program.
The exhibition will be on display through Oct. 3, bringing together work that explores the ways language, ideas, and personal experiences can take physical form through art.
Curated by Dr. Catherine Walworth, the Jackye and Curtis Finch, Jr., Curator of Drawings at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, the ACNMWA traveling exhibition features art by K. Nelson Harper of Fort Smith, Acadia Kandora of Fayetteville, and Rebecca Resinski of Conway.
A reception for the exhibition will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the Kresge Gallery. The free event is open to the public.
The Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts supports the visibility and recognition of women artists through exhibitions and programs throughout the state.
The Kresge Gallery is located in the historic Alphin Building on the Lyon College campus, 2300 Highland Rd., Batesville. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
